I don't see who these types of articles are for. If you're trying to reach the people voting for Trump, you're not going to do it via appealing to their empathy for those outside their tribal designations, or scolding and talking down to them self righteously. You're especially not going to demotivate Trump voters by reminding them that various groups for which they feel antagonistic towards will suffer as a result of their ballot choice.

So this isn't aimed at Trump voters despite the headline and closing paragraph that tut-tuts at the reader and questions their love of country. Instead, this feels like virtue signaling. It feels like I'm reading another liberal/leftist narcissitically getting up on a pulpit so everyone who already agrees with them can shout "amen".

Cool. Fine. Whatever.
